We all can compose music in our sleep. And when we're up the main goal for us is the quicklest fixation of what we have just had in mind. Once I used paper and then while trying to write down the latter unreadable notes I could have the idea completely lost. Then I used dictophones.
I always called these notes 'sonniks'.
Now when I have a chance to challenge myself with a very quick music composition, I also call it a 'sonnik'. Whatever it is, a bunch of tracks made for a TV program, movie or simply an idea that I push myself to compose, record, produce and release from a scratch in a one-day-challenge. It is SONNIK.
SONNIK is always a challenge of speed in music composition. An idea should jump from under my hands while improvising or humming a melody. It's always the most joyful and anticipated way of creating
music for me. I wish there was a DAW that had neural communication with my brain.
Especially when I sleep.
